Reasons to stop biting your nails (Even if you don't, tell your friends who do, to read this)

I have been a compulsive nail biter since I was 3. I remember that first incident because my sister was baby-sitting me. But thats another story.

Anyway, being an OCD nail-biter, I find it hard to show people my hands or wear nail polish. People tell me to put some foul smelling stuff on my nails. I told them that it wouldn't work, because not only do I bite my nails, I also rip them off (Sounds gross, but OCD people are like that).
Bad things that come out of nail-biting:
  • They look disgusting
  • If you pick the skin around them, the skin looks gross
  • It really hurts
  • You get self-conscious about your nails
  • You get jealous to people who can wear nail polish
  • You can't enjoy nail-polish
  • You can't stop biting your nails
  • When you try to wear lip-gloss which is sticky to stop biting, you just forget you have it on and end up with sticky fingers...yuk
  • Friends get really grossed out and make you feel worse, which gets you stressed and makes you bite your nails more
  • When you try to grow them again, you feel the nails and they are really annoying and you end up biting them again
  • When you try to regrow them, they grow awkwardly and wonky so before they get to length to file them, they break off and you just want to finish the job you didn't start
  • You don't concentrate on what you're meant to be doing, and you end up being scolded for nail-biting and half a finished job. Annoying.
  • You get mouth infections, which hurt.
  • And this reason, which is most prominent, is that when you bite your nails, your bottom jaw is pushed forward. That is not how the jaw is meant to go, and with that repeditive movement, the jaw socket it spazzed out, resulting in a clicking of the jaw and eventually the lock of the jaw, which is painful, scary and annoying. This could result in a lifetime of bad jaw-lock, like I have. And it's all because of my nail-biting.
So from that long list, you see my troubles. When I try to grow my nails, they are all wonky and annoying, and when they grow okay, I can feel them there, waiting to be ripped off. So as well as the list being bad things that happen from nail-biting, they are reasons to stop. Who wants that to happen? No one. So since I have been told that if I don't stop, my jaw could be in jeopardy, I need to stop. I just need something to occupy my hands, like a stress ball or something. Please, whoever reads this, help me stop biting my nails!!!!

Sweet Sweet hours

I hate having msn conversations where you have to bite your tongue, (or refrain from typing how you feel) because if you do, it will turn into a real fight? Oh I hate it. And the other person keeps being so annoying. And you want to stop the conversation, but the other person started it and won't shut up? Thats happening now. For friends who know me well, I think u can guess the person :P

I'm wearing this watch I got at an American airport for 10 dollars. It only have 4 lines for numbers so I don't read it often. It just looks pretty kewl.

I played the Sims 2 on PS2 for the first time in a long time. It was really fun, although it got boring after my two sims married.

A lot a lot a lot of posts today

Since the 3rd week of term 1, I have asked my Dad to drop me off at the round-a-bout opposite the botanic gardens. This worked particularly well in Summer, because it was the perfect temperature outside at 8:20am in the morning. I would turn my iPod on, and listen to Regina Spektor's outrageously beautiful songs, and Ingrid Michaelson's gorgeous love songs. I used to walk up Collin's (?) street and I would just enter in the hall way. But I was still getting to school too early and ending up being a loner, so I would walk down Grandview. What I have learned:

  • Everything is more beautiful in the mornings
  • Regina Spektor's songs are perfect strolling music
  • The sun is great warmth when it isn't in your eyes
  • People walk to school so fast, like they want to get to school
  • I walk slow

Could this be the start of some utter hate?

Could not think of a good title. I really couldn't.

Right now I am about to do mathletics. I really hate it, and Mr Corben assigns heaps of work. Although I have mad hair. Awesome hair. I think it was funny how Mr Corben introduced himself to the class 'Hello, I am Mr Corben, and you can call me Mr Corben'. Hahaha

Changess

I changed the layout back. There we go, much better

?

Like the new layout? Please post pros and cons. I'll go back to the old one if I don't like it.

Cross Country

  • Went off to a slow start and watched my 'running person' bolt into the distance
  • Was puffed out around 30 seconds in
  • Started walking, angry about my unfitness
  • Started running when I downhill bit came up
  • Downhill bit didn't last long
  • Was overtaking and being overtaken by Billie, two girls in my age group, Abeera Said, Zach Biggin and Raegan Jones.
  • Repeatedly
  • So I was puffing and breathing really heavily and almost hyperventilating (thinks of Lano and Woodley episode)
  • Got a drink
  • Bolted down the hill, couldn't stop
  • Walked
  • Ran and walked
  • Bolted to finish posts.
  • Was suprised I came 7th
  • yay 7th
Thats about it. Now it's HOLIDAYS!

A combination of Tulips and Daisys. I call them, Todaisies.

Today was the last day
Part of me wanted to stay home
Part of me wanted to to the Cross Country
Well what happened today?
  • I woke up just as my alarm was going off at 7am. But I wasn't as tired as usual, probably because of retarded daylight saving stuff. Although I'm glad it stopped, because I was getting up around 10 mins before sunrise. Fun fun fun.
  • I had my usual shower, not as tired as normal, and got out and stumbled a little. I found my tiredness.
  • My hair was wet and cold. Had brekkie, Weetbix all soggy (I don't care what the stupid NSEW says, I like soggy weebix!)
  • Got ready pretty early, so lay down on sofa until I had to dry my hair.
  • Was fretting on whether to walk the l0ng way to school and chill out to my iPod, or take my thoroughly overdue books back to library and not chilling out to my iPod.
  • Chilled out to iPod and walked long way*
  • Had Mr Corben for maths
  • Someone sneezed wrong and he exploded
  • Had ANZAC assembly. Pretty boring, but I respect all that stuff.
  • Recess, went to canteen, bought frozen youghurt. Overly enthusiastic Mr Curry served me. Had really long recess.
  • Had music. Mr Fletcher refused to ask the only piece of trivia I knew**
  • Went to lunch, decided to buy salad wrap I don't like because boy in front of me bought one.
  • After removing all unnecessary products (Tomato and Beetroot) wrap tasted fine. Also bought coke which came in handy after Cross Country
  • Went to oval. Cursed about my oversized bag. I hate it.
  • Sat down. All my friends were stressing about cross country. I wasn't nervous. Whats to be nervous about? I run for *fun* and go alright. Peeps taking it serious have nothing to worry about.
Next Installment: My Cross Country thoughts. Does anyone take their time to read this?

*Still haven't taken books back

I love having my iPod on in the shower.

Well, not in the shower, playing whilst I'm in the shower. Then I can sing along to Regina Spektor or Ingrid Michaelson.

I just fooled Maddie for April Fools Day that I had broken ribs and that I couldn't see her before she went to Thailand. Coz she fooled me into believing she was going out with a guy. Funny, right?

Anyway, I have nothing to talk about. Oosy I'm getting Maccas for tea. It's one of those meals you love to hate? I mean its crap food, but I can't help but like it. Yes, I'm confusing.

Just had maccas....it was filling but okay...

Dont you hate it when...

you hear a snippet of a song either on the radio, on a movie or someone is singing it while you walk past? Oh I hate it. It annoys me.
